For several years, Qian Gang analysed the political intention behind discourse climates through consistent observation. Qian Gang is a Chinese non-fiction writer and journalists from Hangzhou, China. In 1986 he published "The Great Tangshan Earthquake" (唐山大地震), that won national accolades and was translated into English, Japanese, Korean, and French. Qian Gang is also one of the founders of the periodicals Life Week (三联生活周刊) and the CCTV program News Probe (新闻调查).
